Decoding Dyslexia Utah (DD-UT) works hard lobbying for our kids on bills related to special education funding and rules, educational funding and bills to improve reading outcomes. Our members attend many legislative meetings, speak for our families and also attend state school board meetings.
DD-UT has a representative on the ACEESS Committee. What is the ACEESS Committee? ACEESS stands for “Advisory Committee on Equity of Educational Services for Students” the board-appointed, volunteer group is made up of members of minority populations who work to ensure that the kids they represent are considered in the USBE’s decision-making. DD-UT serves as a representative of students with disabilities on the committee.
