The Wasatch Spring Seminar is a virtual educational professional development conference that focuses on the best practices based on the Science of Reading. We bring leading experts from across the country to Utah to share their knowledge and experience.

With the latest research, educators, professionals, and parents learn methods for helping struggling readers and the impact that dyslexia has in our schools including actions to help students find success.

Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Training

Paid Event

The Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Course is designed to prepare trainees to individualize instruction to meet the specific needs of each learner. The curriculum in the training adheres to the guidelines of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, emphasizing the principles of the approach: language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive, flexible, diagnostic/prescriptive, and success oriented.

Wasatch Reading Summit

Paid Event

The Wasatch Reading Summit is an in person and virtual two day conference that focuses on educational professional development that focuses on the best practices based on the Science of Reading. We bring leading experts from across the country to Utah to share their knowledge and experience.

This multi day conference has a track for parents of students with dyslexia, several tracks focused on class room educators and literacy specialists and a track that is directed toward pre-service educators with emphasis on the latest research, educators, professionals, and parents learn methods for helping struggling readers and the impact that dyslexia has in our schools including actions to help students find success.

Parent Classes

FREE Event

This class is for parents of kids with dyslexia and other learning differences. Join us to gain tips on ensuring that your child’s needs and strengths are reflected in their IEP. We will discuss how to ask data-centered questions in the IEP meeting, how to set up home data collection and how to package and present your child’s strengths to the IEP team, and more.

Youth Advocate Events

FREE Event

Decoding Dyslexia Utah Youth Advocates and Board Members will answer questions and share resources for kids with dyslexia. FREE event for kids in 3rd grade and up. A parent or guardian must also attend. These events are fun & confidence building.
